This site collects as little as possible. Here is what it collects, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect
When you send a listing request, a claim, or a correction, we receive the details you type: your name, business details, email address, phone number, and message.
The form also has a box you can tick if you want help with your own website. If you tick it, we may contact you about that. If you leave it blank, we will not.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages you request. These keep the site running and help stop abuse. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits. It sets no cookies.
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses.
The fonts on this site load from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to fetch them, which shares your IP address with Google.
Why we collect it
We use what you send to publish and update listings, to answer you, and to keep the directory accurate. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising.
Directory information
Listings show public business information: business name, category, location, phone, and website. We do not publish a personal phone number or email unless you ask us to. If your business is listed and you want something corrected or removed, use the listing page.
Who else handles it
A few companies handle information on our behalf. Cloudflare hosts this site and processes form messages. Google provides fonts. Ahrefs provides visit counts. Our email provider stores the messages we receive. These companies are based in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there and be subject to United States law.
How long we keep it
We keep listing requests and messages for up to two years after our last contact with you. Published listings stay up until you ask us to remove them or the business closes. Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted.
How we protect it
We limit who can see your information. We use accounts protected by strong passwords and two-step sign-in. The site runs over a secure connection (HTTPS).
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it or delete it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We answer within 30 days.
If you live in the United States
We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We run no ad trackers, so there is nothing to opt out of. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we collect, to get a copy, to correct it, and to have it deleted. Email us to use these rights. We answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
How to make a complaint
If you have a concern, please tell our privacy officer first. We will look into it and reply in writing. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
